Talia Martin - Beach and Park

Hey shazza (:
I didnt have any photos at the beach but I had a picture from a park next to a beach we went to
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey Talia! I love the shaped chipboard you used. Great bunch of butterflies, and love your spray of flowers. - Shazza

We all wish you well Talia and hope that your scrapping endeavours continue...I'm sure we will see you around the challenge blogs. Good Luck!!

Here's mine.....

Shazza Bishop - Carrum

Some pics from a beach holiday to Carrum in 1961
The journaling reads: Here I am 2 1/2 years old. the Family at Carrum, Jan 1961. Nanna and Pop Morrison and my mum :) I love finding these old photos and scrapping them. Great memories from a time long ago! My seagulls were hand drawn and cut :) thanks for looking
Cheers Shazza

Next DT submission is from.....

Robin Jenkins - Fun in the Sun

Hi Shazza!
Here's my submission for November. The pictures were taken during my brother-in-law and his family's annual visit here to Florida to visit with my mother-in-law and our family. Brian and his family live in Virginia in the middle of the state, so when they come, we spend most of our time at the beach! The colorful PPs and border sticker are from Studio Calico, September Kit. The sandcastle, starfish and crab are from my stash and the seagulls were a freebie digi stamp that I found on the net.
Best regards,
Robin

Hey Robin! Great bright beachey page, your sandcastle embellie just looks so real...fantastic!
Great beach pics and love your title on the tag. This page would make a fantastic sketch! Well done! Cheers Shazza

Here is our next submission from......

Deb Clark - One Summer Day

Dear Shaz,
Can I tell you I LOVED working on this very LO!! What a great inspiration from Chris Wake's painting 'Beach'. I have used some adorable pp with a bucket & spade, cutout a few little seagulls & used this wonderful family beach photo, so all the Diva Demand is covered!
I adore this family photo (in fact I believe it is only one of two family photos of us) on the beach at Evans Head, northern NSW in January 1958. The photo isn't the best quality - taken with a Box Brownie - but still what a glorious memory! I am the little one in the front with my sister, 2 brothers & mum & dad. I have such fond & also vivid memories of Evans Head, as there was a little train that ran along the shore....& recently whilst camping there I went to the local museum to track down some photos of that special train. So my memories were really playing with my head, whilst working on this LO I tell you!!
Cheers, Deb xx

Deb! I can tell you loved working on this layout because its turned out a treat. It has just come togeether so well, Love the old box brownie photo and all your added bits and pieces. Your title has turned out just beautiful using the different fonts. Cheers Shazza

Look at this fantastic submission........

Shelee Lark - By the Seashore

Hi Shazza,

Here is my DT submission for November. The only
family beach photo I had to use for this
challenge was one taken on my recent holiday to
Coffs Harbour, by our lovely DT member Deb, of
Holly and I down on the pier!! I have used the
recent release October Afternoon 'Seashore'
range which was perfect for adding in all of
the extra criteria - the bucket & spade, the
seagulls and I also thought the deckchair was
appropriate from the chairs featured in the
painting. I had fun with this one!!

Cheers!
Shelee :)

Hey Shelee!
What a great beachy page! love the photo of
you and holly, love all the beach embellies
you used especially your deck chair :)Love
the blues and sandy colors you used on your
page. Well done and great work this month!
Cheers Shazza

Heres another clever submission......

Angie A - Sit with Me

Hi Shazza
Here is my November layout....
The three ladies at the beach in this months painting took center stage in my layout,
well next to the sand castle. This is a photo of my 3 ladies at the beach..
this summer..My daughter and daughter-in-law both are pregnant so they just sat with the baby
while the boys played in the waves...so this is why I titled it Sit with Me.

Very clever Angie! Love your months submission, that huge sandcastle is awesome! Perfect photo to use on your page and love all those added extra beachy pieces. Great work! Cheers Shazza

Here is a submission from one of our DT members....Sarah 'the late'....lol

Sarah Cooper - Beach Day

This month I used a picture of William (son #3) at the beach from last summer.
I started with Fancy Pants paper, then globbed blue paint on under the photo, bit of glimmer mist then topped with an overlay (also Fancy Pants).
The sand is real... sprinkled over 3D Crystal Lacquer. I made sure to overlap the stickers under the picture and down the side.
All on top of the overlay.
I also ran a bunch of mini-brads down the side to accent the overlay design.

The square was a blank canvas sticker (Technique Tuesday) I misted then stamped with the image (my seagulls) and sentiment:
'The best things in life are not free, but priceless' (Stampin'Up!).
'beach day' title was glimmer misted and attached over more blue paint, square stickers, bling and more sand.
Summer 2009
Britannia Beach
Sun, Sand & Fun.
William's Favorite Place...

Sarah so glad you were able to get your submission in after having camera trouble :( I'm glad you were able to replace your camera too! Gorgeous arty piece this month, with paints and glimmer mist. I love the sandcastle pic you used. Love the pic of William , he looks like he is having a great time.......great inspiration from you this month Sarah. Cheers Shazza

Who is it going to be this time........

Peggy Schenkels - Walk with Me

Hi Shazza,
The picture features me as a two-year old walking the shore line with my dad and my granddad. I used a quote I've used before on an art journal page but which I thought went perfectly with this picture: "Every child needs a gentle hand, to guide them as they grow". Isn't that beautiful?
I've used a lot of different papers, something I don't do very often but I seemed to have no say in the matter this time. Do you ever have that feeling, as if you have absolutely no control over what you're making??? Strange ...
However, the LO just didn't come together until I added the seagulls and the beach embellies, that really finished off the page. I didn't have any of those embellies, so I drew all of them. Your challenges with all these criteria seem to always stretch my imagination that little bit farther Shazz, and I so thank you for that!

xxx Peggy

Peggy! Your page is a delight it really has come together beautifully. ! love the quote you used aswell, and it is just perfect to use with your pic of you and your dad and granddad. This is definately one of my new favourites of your! I love your hand drawn embellies, they look fantastic. I love this layout to pieces!! - Shazza

Another 'The Beach' submission from........

Megan Vin - Conversing with the Sand

Hi all!
I've been without internet for a while now and I'm
desperate to log on and see what's new online! I've
created a digital layout this month. Love this
painting. I wanted to have my three kids in it as
I was inspired by the three figures in the painting.
I've also used the colours from the painting. The
stripes represent a towel. Absolutely love the
painting style in this one. Hope you will enjoy it
too!!
Cheers,
M

Thanks Megan! I love your digi page this month. And
the photo of your three kids in the sand is a great
shot! I love your stripey towel and the title of your
layout is so cool! Great work this month Megan, and we
hope to see you back on line soon :)
Cheers Shazza

Who is next ......

Amanda Taylor - Building Sandcastles with Daddy

hey Shazza, i loved the 'beach' painting, and have covered all the criteria...sandcastles(on book page, in photo and sandcastle in my title), seagulls(on book page...i couldnt find any seagulls so i tore the cover off a book that had this cute pic lol) and family beach pics(connor and his daddy building sandcastles).....thanks for the awesome painting for inspiration shazza, you never cease to amaze me with the gorgeous paintings you give is each month
thanks heaps, hope you like this

I love this submission of yours Amanda...the photos of Connor and his Dad at the beach are just perfect for this challenge...love the pic you got out of a book too. the bright colors you have used are just so bright and summery! I love the hot air balloon embellie :) The buttons and flowers along the bottom of the page are just the right accent for this page.! Cheers Shazza

Our next submission comes from.....

Lisa Hanrahan - DayDream

Dear Shazza,
Here is my take on the "Beach" by Chris Wake. I have included all of the criteria; a spade and bucket, birds and a family beach photo. I have kept the layout in soft white and off white tones like the background of the painting. I included a scalloped arch as the painting background had a hint of this shape too. I have also used the colours of the swimming costumes of the people in the painting for the main flower - white, red and black. Thank you for the challenge for this month! Cheers, Vanilla xxx

An absolutely gorgeous submission this month Lisa! love how you did the scalloped background arch...it looks great. I love the photo of the girls with their backs to us...it adds a sense of dreaminess to the layout. Love your cluster of flowers and all your added embellies! Fantastic! Cheers Shazza

Ok, lets get the ball rolling with our first submission....

Melissa O'Neill - My Beach Beauty

Me again Shazza, this is Novemeber's layout, I really loved the criteria for this, being just Nate and I, no photos of both of us together on the beach, must try this summer to get one, but was heaps of fun to do as always. Love to you, Melxx

Great layout Mel! Love the pics of Nate having a splash. Great title and love all your added accents. I love your fancy banner too :) and I love that pp you used (I have that one in my stash)
Thanks and cheers Shazza

A beautiful entry today from...

Narelle Riley - Feed the Birds

Hi Shazza
Here is my entry for the October challenge. As soon as I saw the painting it reminded me of some really old photos I had of my daughter feeding the pelicans! The position she is standing in was so similar to the woman in the painting! I cant scrap soft colours so I stuck with my usual bright papers! There are shades of pink, a pink rose on the tag and a white bird (as well as all the white pelicans!).
Blessings,
Narelle

My scrapping creations- http://scrapperazzi.blogspot.com/

Wow! Narelle this is gorgeous. I love the photos of your daughter with the pelicans....look how close she got to them. You couldn't have got any better photos to use for this challenge. I love your bright pinks, and I love the flowers on the circle pp. All criteria covered for a fantastic take on the challenge this month. Super work! Cheers Shazza
